Recently i looked into the new dragonball movie, and found that imdb meantions 3 other live actions.
here we discuss the daunting possibility of another crappy movie remake.
Dragonball: evolution from the previews it looks like they just bought the rights to the names of the movie, and a couple characters....
The last airbender They're going to fragtastic it up and you know it.
ninja scroll prolly with less slashing and more american something or other.
akira i've never seen the anime. but isnt it about racing?! what happened to that last racing anime live action film?!
battle angel james cameron apparently has plans for this. dude has some good movies.
anyone else know or heard of others from reliable sources?!

And something about a giant amoeba. But that last one doesn't happen in the manga. In the manga, they have an orgy instead. Also, after seeing how cool the robots looked in Transformers, I think they should bring the special effects guys from that movie and make a Gundam movie. That would be totally badass.

Yeah, the KALA has been over these and I see dark days looming over us. DB looks like it will be a moldy piece of poop, left out in the rain. James Marsters (Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer) will be playing Piccolo. I don't know how to feel about that. Also, Japan already made two Death Note movies and it doesn't need to be raped by America and that faggot Zack Effron. I'm surprised his knees are still intact. -,- I don't know anything about The Last Airbender. I haven't seen the anime and I didn't know there was going to be a live action movie of it. Same with Akira and Battle Angel. We have the Akira movie, but we haven't watched it yet because Stain wants to finish reading the manga before doing so. I've seen the Ninja Scroll anime and I like the impression it left on me. I really don't want it to be ruined by a crappy live action remake. And Seventy2, you have left out probably the most critical live action movie that will be coming out within the next year: COWBOY BEBOP. Keanu Reeves will be playing Spike. It is true, and though I have no personal issues with Keanu, I've heard a lot of fear in people's voices and I'm not sure he's really the optimal choice to play Spike. Not only that, but Cowboy Bebop is often referred to as one of the best. If the producers screw it up, there will be blood. My conclusive text: LIVE ACTION ANIME MOVIES SHOULD ONLY BE MADE BY JAPANESE FILM PEOPLE!!!

I will NOT stand for this. The yaoi fangirls were bad enough. Death Note does not need any more giggling school girls in its fanbase. EDIT: After snooping around, I see nothing to indicate that he is in the movie. Or that anyone has even been signed on to it. Where did you get a hold of the ominous bit of info?! DOUBLE EDIT: Also, I believe Japan actually made 3 death not movies. The third was a prequel called L: Change the World or something like that. And Seventy2, you have left out probably the most critical live action movie that will be coming out within the next year: COWBOY BEBOP. Keanu Reeves will be playing Spike. Keanu Reeves should only ever play emotionless protagonists. It's all he's good at. He excels at it, even. He should not be playing Spike.

I'm hoping and praying that Zac Effron won't be in the movie. A friend of mine told me he would be, but she may have been mistaken.
I'd never heard of the Death Note prequel movie. I've actually only read the manga (before the craze happened. ;P ) and I still need to see the anime and the movies.
I read an article about the Cowboy Bebop movie after a few groups of friends told me about it. And I agree with Lizardbite.

According to Google, no actors have been signed on to Death Note yet. The Zac Efron thing is just a rumor. A terrible, terrible rumor. Which should never come to pass.
Also, in regards to Cowboy Bebop: Apparently, Bruce Willis might play Jet and Keira Knightely might play Faye. My sister's reaction to this news was the following: "Keira Knightely?! But her boobs aren't big enough!"

Keep in mind that the Willis and Knightley thing is just a rumor. Like the Efron thing.
Damn, I can't think of anyone who would be good as Spike, either. Maybe if they cast a promising unknown...
Oh, and still think a Gundam movie, if handled properly and on a big enough budget, would be awesome.

Yeah, I think a Gundam movie could go really well. I haven't seen Gundam Wing, but I think, from what I've read and heard about it, that it would be the best candidate for a live action movie. I'm wouldn't, however, want to leave it to America to make the movie, simply because of the actors and the material (American films seem to have a more childish and often malformed levity incorporated in movies).

Actually, I was thinking that maybe instead of basing it on one particular series, they should make up their own AU or make it a prequel or sequel or something. Granted, this would result in countless fans decrying it for not being faithful to the source material, but frankly, as long as it feels like Gundam (i.e. Giant Robots, space colonies, newtype-like character, guy in a mask, heavy anti-war message, etc.), I'd be perfectly OK with it.
